Tom Carroll joined in July 2023.

The 31-year old has a wealth of experience across the English pyramid, playing almost 100 Premier League matches for Tottenham Hotspur and Swansea City, as well as featuring in the Championship for QPR, Aston Villa and the Swans.

Carroll’s career began with Spurs where he progressed through the academy ranks, making his first team professional debut in the Europa League before his Premier League debut came in November 2012. His first goal for the North London side came against Monaco in the Europa League in December 2015.

After loan moves to QPR and Derby, he completed a permanent move to Swansea for £4.5m in January 2017 and helped the Welsh side avoid relegation from the Premier League. He would stay for three years, making 74 appearance – via a two game loan spell at Villa – before joining QPR. He featured 22 times in the 2020-21 season for the Hoops, turning down a new deal at the end of the campaign, when he joined Ipswich.

Tom had been out of the game since the end of 2021-22 season, and hoped to get back to regular playing time with the Grecians. He found just that, playing 45 times in all competitions for the Grecians in 2023/24, as well as scoring his first goal in over eight years at Peterborough in April.
